A transparent roof for upward-facing cavities.

I hope this will reduce standing water in them, thus diminishing rot further down the trunk and splitting damage from freezing of the water. Allowing light to pass through may help diminish decay compared to an opaque material. Also this probably makes a good squirrel bauhaus.

To my surprise not much mold formation on these in two years.
