Root Care

Using our Tree Spade, a device which removes soil from around roots using high-velocity air, the root system and all of its problems are laid bare for analysis and pruning.

Girdling roots are thought to be caused by poor nursery or planting practices, limited rooting area or sprinklers trained on the trunk. They can cause the tree to decline and die.

Soil Aeration and Amending

The Air Spade is used for remediating soil compaction in trees’ root zones, a technique called Radial Trenching.
